Whit has been in Jackson Hole this week enjoying some mountain air and world class views from atop a Teton while I am home keeping the wee ones safe and sound. It has been an interesting week. With Whit gone only hours, I had already witnessed my brigade of mourners weep, sulk, and wallow over the loss of Dad for six days. We are not really use to having Whit gone very often. Besides, who can blame them? All of you who know Whit would understand.
It is now Friday and Whit will return tomorrow and I am looking at a stack of letters to Dad that Brooke has been working on all week. There are pictures of them together swimming, riding splash mountain, holding hands, eating breakfast together, going for walks, jumping on trampolines...buying toys. I counted there are 11 cards all full of hours of careful coloring and wishing and happy thoughts of a sweet little 5 year old. Ej has since added three of his own. I feel so grateful for this man in their cards, and dreams. He deserves every single one of their little colored hearts and smiling balloons. We miss you when your gone Whit.

Hi Laura,
Your tribute to Whit is very touching to me, and brings back the day when I drove him back to Ogden for school. That was a very tough day for me. He does bring tons of joy to all.
Laura,
I miss you and Whit and your sweet family. I love this post. It is so wonderful of you, like getting his car detailed. He is a lucky man. I am not letting Rob read this because...well...I am not so gracious when he is out of town. Yikes. you are a good example.

Hi Laura,
This was so sweet. I can imagine Whit is a wonderful father. I enjoy reading about you and your family. You are definitely a loving & devoted mother. I imagine Whit loved the welcome home & love letters from his fan club! Too cute.
It is strange how "absense makes the heart grow fonder." It is so true. I bet Whit missed you guys just as much.
