Mom, can I have a cheeto?

Today as Danny was pointing to carrots he asked if he could have a cheeto. This might seem like just a typical mistake of a three year to not know the word for carrot but sadly this says alot about my sons diet. It seems he has a sixth sense to know what has come from a garden and to stay away at all costs. Whatever it may be I have a son who can sniff out something with high sugar content, trans fats, artificial coloring and 100% preservatives and to him those things ARE the four food groups.

I remember when Whit and I were first married I thought he was a bit of a picky eater. He did not like to eat leftovers and if something looked bad even if it was a piece of pizza, he wouldn't eat it (hey it's pizza, I don't care what it looks like I know what it will TASTE like. Hand it over.). Whit's pickiness has dulled over the years I think because he has spent 12 years with me and my cooking and learned if he didn't get over it he'd starve!

I was the kid who would eat all my Halloween candy within the first few days then cry for my older siblings to give me some of theirs. Sadly I was THAT kid.

So if genetics have anything to do with eating habits then Danny is picky and partial to food with no nutritional value because of us!!
